Boom

Super Abilities: Sonic Speed; Adhesion; Extraordinary PP; Healing Factor

Physical Description:
Boom is an attractive athletic woman in her early thirties, with shoulder length blonde hair and abnormally pale blue eyes. In action she speeds along any available surface; her trademark "move" is running through hallways using her Adhesion to bank turns, allowing rapid movement in relatively closed spaces.
Disposition / History
Sarah is tired... She has fought "supervillains" for years as part of a member of several government sponsored SPB teams. It takes a great deal of motivating to get her to use her powers now. Only her old allies have much chance of calling her out of her self-imposed retirement; after years of service she wants to live her own life, apart from superpowered government agents and world threats. Unfortunately, Sarah is ill-suited for civilian life, and the transition has made her sedentary and reclusive.

Robotic Features:

Appearance:
Christopher West appears to be a tall, handsome man, approximately thrity years of age, with dark brown hair and blue eyes.
Disposition:
Before the accident that left him as a quadriplegic (see below) Christopher was a happy man. He enjoyed appreciable professional and personal successes. After the accident he was understandably depressed, but rarely lost hope that a cure for his condition would be found. Now, after he has been given a second chance to enjoy life, he tries to live as well as possible. Christopher has adjusted surprisingly well to life in a robotic body, largely helped by his release from over a decade spent paralyzed. His professional life has led him to enjoy the benefits of his new body, and he greatly enjoys performing his own stunts alongside superpowered costars and stuntspeople.
History:
Christopher West was a popular television and film actor in the seventies and eighties. He is now chiefly remembered for his role on a television series as a non-powered soldier fighting in a fictionalized war, alongside and against other superpowered agents, but he has several film and televisions credits to his name. He has largely portrayed strong, morally conscious characters, often alongside other superpowered actors.

His career was waning in 1985 when his car was struck in an intersection by a drunk driver travelling well over the speed limit; the accident left him a quadriplegic and killed his wife of seven years. The well-televised trial of the offending driver garnered much sympathy for West, and he became a public face for both drunk driving awareness and spinal injury research. Complications arose with his injuries, preventing the use of many new medical techniques that have since become common for injuries of that nature. Facing a shortening life with little hope for recovery, Christopher West began to despair.

In 1996 he was approached by a robotics firm, with an offer to provide him limited mobility using an experimental transferred intelligence system. After several months of testing, he agreed to have the full system implanted in his body, and for the first time inhabited a scaled down robotic body. After more than a decade spent trapped in his own broken body, he slowly walked across his bedroom to his waiting family.

Using his personal savings and public sponsorship from the robotics firm West has purchased two state of the art Class 4 robotic bodies. The bodys' facial and physical features are identical to his own, with only moderately enhanced strength and speed. In early 2000, Chistopher's biological body began to fail, and suffered a debilitating stroke. Not knowing if he would ever be able to safely transfer back to his original body, he personally pulled the plug on the life support systems and watched his body die. In the aftermath, Christopher is even more comfortable in his new form, and has secretly purchased a standard issue Type 2 robotic system with enhanced speed and strength. He treats the new body as a fancy toy, akin to a sports utility vehicle. With his career back in full swing (for the time being), he hasn't really considered using his new bodies in any kind of "heroic" fashion. In years to come, however, the idea will likely given serious thought, considering the subject matter of his movies. Time will tell how he uses his gifts....

Carter Case, aka "The Daring Man"

Hand to Hand Combat: Expert

Attacks per Melee: 8
Strike: +5
Damage: +30
Initiative: +2
Parry: +10
Roll: +7
Dodge (Auto): +12 (+6)
Pull: +2
Physical Description:
Carter Case, aka The Daring Man, is covered in thick layers of lean muscle. He has bright blue eyes and short blonde hair. Mutant side effects have given him an angelic face, in addition to making him ambidextrous.
Disposition:
The Daring Man is a cheerful person. He genuinely enjoys what he does, evidenced by the nearly permanent smile on his face. Carter is not a deep thinker; he believes that right and wrong are usually easy to separate. He prefers jumping into situations and relying on his resilience over excessive planning and worrying: not exactly careless or foolhardy, so much as overly willing to get his hands dirty. He dislikes firearms, and realizes that SPBs with Energy Expulsion powers are essentially armed. When Carter decides on a goal, he will rarely stop short of acheiving it. His biggest shortcoming is his tendency to treat even serious situations as games. When he loses a fight, although it isn't often, it doesn't seem to bother him very much.
History:
Carter Case grew up in a low-middle class suburban home. At a very young age he showed himself as a gifted athlete. He grew very popular with his classmates, especially with the girls. Around the age of 15 his super abilities began to fully manifest, and he started to grow the layers of muscle that give him his power. By the age of 16, his mutant nature was suspected, and after genetic testing he was asked not to engage in competitive athletics. Never having been a dedicated student, he was left with very little to do. After graduation, he decided to enroll in one of several SPB trade schools, with the goal of becoming a superhero. During the program he was approached by agents of the FBI SPB Program, and eventually became a member. His personality/powers allowed him to flourish for years, but he was never a full team player. After three years with a team of revolving members Carter struck out on his own. He left on reasonably good terms, in part thanks to his Extraordinary Mental Affinity.

Carter adopted the persona of "The Daring Man" soon after he left the FBI. He joined a loosely knit group of similar minded SPBs, who operate a freelance law enforcement consulting firm called ?????????. Civilian police forces who need SPB assistance maintain contracts with the firm, who organize appropriate response teams. Carter, as "The Daring Man," has a popular public persona. He seems to get a great deal of enjoyment out of the public aspect of his job. He works well with one or two partners, but in larger groups tends to strike out on his own when he begins to feel bogged down by overplanning.

Flick

Super Power Category: Mutant

Super Abilities: Alter Physical Structure: Plasma; Teleportation

Physical Description:
In normal human form he has short brown hair, dark eyes, and pale complexion. In plasma form Flick is a humanoid shaped collection of particles, glowing a bright green-white. When he uses his Teleportation power he disappears in a flash of firelight, reappearing in a similar fashion.
Disposition:
Since Flick's use of the Super-Nova power (see below) his motivations have become more complicated. Most of the time he does everything possible, sometimes beyond reason or without thinking, to prevent harm done to innocents. However, when he gets pushed over the edge, usually by an act of violence, he becomes uncontrollable. He unleashes the full force of his power to punish the responsible party, not thinking about collateral injuries to those he was previously overprotective of. The damage he does during these rages is usually far greater than anything he could have prevented through his previous intervention. After the rage passes Flick becomes even more overprotective than before, and the ensuing rage becomes more intense during the next cycle.
History:
Flick was a US government agent, working with a NSA-sponsored team of SPBs. Originally he had the power Alter Physical Structure: Fire, but during a mission was forced to use his Super-Nova power. A biological agent was released into an underground complex, and was about to be vented into the general population. Flick used his power to destroy the complex, at the same time burning up the deadly gas. During the search of the complex's remains his teammates found his unconscious body. Eventually he found that his fire-based power had changed to APS: Plasma. The event traumatized him, but he remained on the team until it's disbandment. Flick currently lives on a reasonable government pension, but has trouble holding a normal job.

Jackson

Base Attributes: Very High IQ; High ME, MA; Above average (but normal human) physical attributes

Super Power Category: Mutant w/ Unstable Powers (Grows w/ Experience)

Super Abilities (by level gained):

1. Gravity Manipulation; Manipulate Kinetic Energy; Power Channeling (Utilizes gravitational potential energy)
3. Radar (Utilizes gravitational waves, rather than electromagnetic)
6. Gravity Manipulation II
10. Slow Motion Control

Appearance:
Jackson is a reasonably athletic man in his mid thirties, with short brown hair and blue eyes. His powers are often accompanied by a visual "warping" effect, as space is bent to his will.
Disposition:
Often times Jackson can seem distant. This is usually the result of his mind being on other matters; between his work and the constant distraction provided by his powers he has to spread his focus. When he engages himself he can be surprisingly sociable, especially when business concerns and honest socialization require his attention.
History:
Steve Jackson was a bright, athletic child. He played many sports, but excelled in baseball. He developed pitching abilities far earlier than other players, and by the age of 13 he was well known for the incredible speed and control he displayed in his pitching, as well as the power and accuracy of his batting. As he began to pitch against experienced batters he found continued success; many players said that his pitches didn't look right. When Steve was 15 years old an assistant coach made a video tape of his pitches, as he agreed that something looked strange about the way the ball moved. On viewing the tape he saw that Steve was rarely giving sufficient spin to the ball to achieve the resulting pitch. With some further investigation, it was seen that Steve had unknowingly been using Manipulate Kinetic Energy and Power Channeling for years; baseball had been a focus for the development of his mutant powers.

After this was discovered, Steve was asked to stop participating in competitive sports, as was standard under the Fair Competition Initiative. Realizing that he wasn't the athlete he had always considered himself, he refused offers to participate in SPB sporting ventures and began to develop his academic skills in hope of understanding his powers. He found that he had a natural intuition for mathematics and science, and began to focus his efforts on the physics involved in his power. By the age of seventeen Steve had begun to develop an understanding of gravitational physics, and soon developed his first Gravity Manipulation powers. He went on to college and studied theoretical physics, often using the intuition and experimental setting provided by his powers to further his mathematical understanding of problems. At the age of 21 he had developed a gravitational equivalent of the Minor Super Ability Radar through meditational techniques and natural development. Upon graduation he pursued a PhD in Theoretical Physics. He often lent use of his abilities to experiments in gravitational physics, but felt that if he concentrated his efforts there he would be repeating his experience as a baseball player.

By the age of 25, Steve had earned a doctorate degree, and was looking for a change. He decided to put his gravitational powers to good financial use by forming a private contracting business. Essentially, he created a large zero gravity area containing cargo and used his gravitational flight to launch himself into space. For very little overhead he provided incredibly valuable services to government and private space programs, and became a very wealthy man. With his newfound wealth, he began a more active lifestyle, and at about this time further developed his Gravity Manipulation powers. Soon becoming bored with this venture and having more money than he knew what to do with, he accepted an offer to join a team of SPBs called the Watchers. For several years he split his time between work as a superhero and private contractor.

Eventually Steve felt further knowledge and power within his grasp. He began to investigate the relationships between space-time and gravitational effects; at the age of 32 Steve developed the ability of Slow Motion Control. This power makes Jackson a most formidable mutant, with abilities far exceeding many of the most experienced SPBs. After a time he became bored being a costumed hero, and left the group to pursue his own research and otheri nterests. Steve Jackson is currently one of the most powerful SPBs on Earth, in physical, financial, and influential senses. He has a reasonably high profile, but does little to foster a public persona. His powers largely speak for themselves.
